A wonderfully expressive single cask, this Ardnamurchan combines rich Oloroso sherry influence with the distillery's signature coastal character. Layers of dark chocolate, raisins and orange peel are lifted by earthy peat smoke, warming cinnamon and hints of black cherry, creating a whisky that's both bold and beautifully balanced. The oily texture carries through to a long finish of cocoa, gentle spice and lingering embers, delivering impressive depth and maturity well beyond its years.

Ardnamurchan AD/11:14 CK.339 is a particularly interesting early release, distilled in 2014, the very first year Ardnamurchan began production. Matured entirely in a first fill Oloroso sherry butt, Cask 339 was bottled in 2021 as a UK exclusive with only 655 bottles released. Auction performance has been uneven, with verified sales of £70 in April 2022, £95 later that month and £65 in March 2023, while remaining retail stock is now advertised above £120. Our view: the investment case rests less on historic price growth and more on provenance. Whisky distilled during Ardnamurchan's inaugural year, combined with single cask status and finite supply, gives this bottle stronger long term collector potential as the distillery matures.
