Young, muscular and unmistakably Ben Nevis, this cask strength dram is packed with ripe orchard fruit, lemon zest and thick malt, alongside waxy notes, toasted nuts and a touch of earthy funk. Vanilla and honey bring sweetness, while cracked pepper and mineral notes give the palate plenty of energy. Oily, powerful and characterful, it finishes with lingering citrus, malt and warming spice, showing just how much personality Ben Nevis can develop at a remarkably young age.

Ben Nevis 2015 5 Year Old Adelphi Cask 10711 was distilled in 2015 and bottled in 2020 from a single first fill sherry butt, producing 622 bottles. I checked the auction trail specifically for Cask 10711. It has appeared repeatedly at auction, including several Whisky Shop Auctions lots in 2022, but those archived listings do not provide usable achieved prices, so calculating a CAGR would require inventing data. More importantly, the bottle is still available in the UK today for £95, meaning scarcity has not yet developed despite its single cask status. Our view: Ben Nevis has collector appeal and this is a well regarded sherry matured Adelphi, but continued retail availability six years after bottling weakens the investment case. We would drink this one rather than hold it specifically for appreciation.
