Details

Rich, fruity and beautifully concentrated, this Bimber layers dark cherries, raisins and ripe plums with caramel, dark chocolate and roasted nuts. Orange peel and warming spice bring freshness through the sherry richness, while polished oak adds structure and depth. Thick and expressive on the palate, it finishes long with lingering dried fruit, cocoa and sweet spice, showcasing Bimber’s bold spirit beneath a generous layer of sherry influence.

Bimber Sherry Cask #46 is one of the distillery’s early single casks, matured entirely in an ex Pedro Ximénez cask and bottled in June 2020 with only 315 bottles produced. This time there is a useful auction trail. Whisky Hammer recorded £85 in November 2021, £95 in May 2023, while Whisky.Auction achieved £90 in January 2024. A more recent European auction achieved €175, showing stronger demand in continental Europe. Using the comparable UK results from £85 to £90 gives an indicative CAGR of roughly +1%, so appreciation has been modest rather than spectacular. Our view: keep it sealed. The investment case comes from its early Bimber provenance, PX single cask maturation, Asian market exclusivity and fixed 315 bottle supply, rather than its historical returns so far.
