Blanton’s Original Single Barrel has genuine collector recognition, but the standard release has not delivered consistent investment growth. UK auction results show the bottle at £60 to £70 during 2020, rising to £80 in 2021 and £90 in March 2025 before falling back to just £50 in October 2025. Using £60 in January 2020 and £50 in October 2025 gives an indicative CAGR of approximately −3.1%, with comparable £65 to £70 results producing a decline closer to 4% to 5% annually. Our view: the horse stoppers and individual barrel details make Blanton’s fun to collect, but regular production prevents meaningful scarcity. Unless it is an older, unusual or retailer exclusive barrel, the standard Original Single Barrel is better enjoyed than held for appreciation.
