Blanton’s Straight From The Barrel is the cask strength expression of Blanton’s, with every bottle coming from an individually numbered barrel at Buffalo Trace. It attracted significant collector demand during the bourbon boom: comparable 2020 releases regularly achieved around £130 to £165 at UK auction, including £150 at Whisky Hammer and £130 to £165 at Just Whisky. One particularly desirable Barrel No. 1 reached £250 in 2021, but that should be treated as an exceptional cask rather than the normal market. The broader evidence does not show sustained appreciation from the roughly £150 secondary market level established in 2020, so the indicative long term CAGR is essentially flat. Our view: excellent bourbon with collector appeal, but continuing production and numerous individual barrels limit scarcity. Unless yours has an unusual barrel number, dump date or provenance, we would drink it rather than hold it purely for investment.
