Rich, spicy and packed with fruit, this Glenrothes brings together dried apricot, raspberry jam and bramble with dark chocolate, candied ginger and bright orange. Clove and warming baking spices build across the palate, while the sherry influence adds depth without overwhelming the fruit. Full bodied and lively, it finishes with lingering dark berries, oak and spice, making this a wonderfully expressive Speyside with plenty of richness and character.

Glenrothes 2007 13 Year Old Adelphi is Cask 10236, a single refill sherry butt bottled in 2021 with 604 bottles produced. It originally retailed around £78, and unlike many older Adelphi releases it has not become particularly scarce: Whiskybase currently tracks multiple European retailers, with prices starting around €99. I found several appearances for this exact cask across Whisky Auctioneer, Whisky Shop Auctions, WVA and The Grand Whisky Auction, but the accessible archives do not expose enough completed hammer prices to calculate a defensible CAGR. Our view: 13 years, sherry maturation and Adelphi provenance make it interesting, but 604 bottles, continuing retail availability and limited evidence of secondary market appreciation weaken the investment case. This is one we would drink.
