Blair Athol 2008 12 Year Old Adelphi is a single cask release, distilled in 2008 and bottled in 2020 from first fill Oloroso sherry butt Cask 303341, with 588 bottles produced. Unlike some of the thinner traded Adelphi releases, there is enough secondary market evidence to see modest appreciation. Early auction results sat around £65 to £70, while later examples have generally moved into the £75 to £90 range, giving an indicative annualised return of roughly +4%. The gains are not spectacular, but the underlying bottle has attractive fundamentals: full sherry maturation, Adelphi provenance, finite supply and growing interest in independently bottled Blair Athol. Our view: this is worth keeping sealed. It is more of a steady, niche collectible than a high growth investment, but the market direction has been encouraging.
