Hanyu 2000 Zuma & Roka Cask 919 is a genuinely significant Japanese collector bottle. Distilled in Hanyu’s final production year and bottled in 2014 exclusively for the Zuma and Roka restaurant group, only 244 bottles were produced. Auction history is unusually strong: £1,550 in 2015, £1,200 in 2016, £1,300 in 2018 and a remarkable £3,200 in 2022. The Japanese whisky market has since corrected sharply, with multiple 2025 sales around £780 to £940. Using £1,550 in 2015 against roughly £900 in 2025 gives an indicative CAGR of about −5%. Despite that decline, our view is Invest. Final year Hanyu spirit, single cask provenance, restaurant exclusivity and only 244 bottles give it genuine long term significance, although a return to the 2022 peak should not be assumed.
