Beautifully mature and full of old Speyside character, this Linkwood layers ripe orchard fruit, honey and dried apricot with toasted almonds, vanilla and gentle sherry richness. Hints of orange peel, polished oak and warming spice emerge with time, adding depth without overwhelming its elegant fruitiness. Silky and wonderfully composed, it finishes long with lingering fruit, nuttiness and mature oak, making this a refined old Linkwood with plenty of complexity.

Linkwood 1984 26 Year Old Adelphi Cask 5266 is an exceptionally scarce single cask, distilled in 1984 and bottled in 2011 after 26 years in refill bourbon, yielding just 113 bottles. Contemporary records suggest a bottle value around €100 to €110 when released, while today there is no normal retail stock and Whiskybase records no active sellers. I searched specifically for Cask 5266 across auction records, but could not find two verifiable hammer prices far enough apart to calculate a credible CAGR. Our view is still Invest: 1984 vintage, 26 years of maturation, Adelphi provenance and an exceptionally small 113 bottle outturn make this a genuine long term collector bottle rather than simply another independent Linkwood.
