Midnight Contemplation is SMWS 55.68, a 12 Year Old Royal Brackla released in 2021 with only 236 bottles from a single first fill bourbon barrel. Despite its tiny outturn and the bottle now being effectively absent from normal retail, secondary market activity remains exceptionally thin. That makes it scarce, but not necessarily valuable, an important distinction with SMWS releases where hundreds of similarly limited single casks compete for collector attention. Our view: without evidence of sustained auction demand or a meaningful price premium, there is little reason to expect significant appreciation. This is one we would open and enjoy rather than keep sealed purely for investment.
