Bas Armagnac 1994 25 Year Old Adelphi is Cask AM2/20, matured for 25 years in a French oak barrique and bottled in 2020, with only 383 bottles produced. It originally retailed around £130 to £170 in the UK, while a verified Whisky Hammer auction achieved £110 in July 2022. Using the £130 original retail level against that £110 auction result gives an indicative annualised decline of roughly 5%. Despite the tiny outturn and mature 1994 vintage, Armagnac remains a much thinner collector market than whisky and there is little evidence of a sustained premium developing. Our view: fascinating and genuinely scarce, but currently more compelling to drink than to preserve for financial appreciation.
