Dark, rich and intensely sherried, this Bunnahabhain layers raisins, black cherries and dried figs with dark chocolate, treacle and roasted nuts. Orange peel and warming spice cut through the sweetness, while tobacco, espresso and a subtle maritime saltiness add a deeper savoury edge. Thick and powerful at cask strength, it finishes long with lingering dried fruit, cocoa and spice, delivering a bold and wonderfully characterful Islay dram.

Bunnahabhain 2009 10 Year Old Adelphi is a single cask Islay release, matured in a first fill Oloroso sherry butt and bottled in 2020. The outturn was only 614 bottles, giving it permanently limited supply, while the combination of Bunnahabhain and heavily sherried Adelphi bottlings has a solid enthusiast following. I checked the secondary market specifically for this release, but there are not enough clearly verified achieved prices across different years to calculate a credible CAGR rather than mixing it with other 2009 Adelphi casks or retailer asking prices. Our view: the investment case is not proven by historical returns, but Bunnahabhain provenance, full sherry maturation and Adelphi's single cask following make it worth keeping sealed as a niche longer term collectible.
