Fresh oak makes an immediate impression, bringing vanilla, caramel and toasted wood alongside ripe orchard fruit. Sweet spice and roasted nuts develop as it opens, with darker hints of cocoa and charred sugar adding contrast. The youthful spirit remains energetic beneath the powerful virgin oak influence, finishing with vanilla, peppery spice and toasted sweetness.

Invest | Historical CAGR: approximately +2% | Market outlook: Speculative

Holy Cask Salvation Virgin is a very early release from Taiwan’s Holy Distillery, founded only in 2016. This exact bottle is Cask 16, distilled in May 2017 and bottled in July 2021 after four years in virgin oak, with only 300 bottles produced. Auction evidence is unusual because it normally appears as a two bottle set alongside Salvation Vino Cask 8. Sets achieved £76.50 and £77.50 in October 2021 and £86 to £95 by December 2021. The pair resurfaced at Whisky Hammer in 2025, although the accessible record does not disclose a final hammer price. Because the bottles trade together, the roughly +2% figure should be treated as an indicative early auction CAGR rather than a clean single bottle return. Our view: the investment case is speculative but interesting. Tiny production, early Holy Distillery provenance and growing interest in Taiwanese whisky make this worth keeping sealed.
