Kavalan Single Cask for King Car Group 40th Anniversary is a genuinely rare commemorative release created for King Car’s 40th anniversary and presented in an unusual 1.5 litre format. Individual red wine casks produced extraordinarily small outturns, including just 76 bottles from Lafite Cask LF111014006A, while other documented casks yielded around 80 bottles. Importantly, there is real auction history: an example achieved £520 in June 2021, followed by £400 sales in September and November 2023. Whisky Auctioneer data subsequently shows £410 in June 2025 and £450 in December 2025. Comparing roughly £520 in 2021 with £450 in 2025 gives an indicative CAGR of about −4%. Despite that decline, our view is Invest: anniversary provenance, exceptional presentation, tiny individual cask outturns and increasing Kavalan collectability make this substantially more compelling than a standard Solist release.
