Rich, decadent and bursting with fruit, this Kavalan layers juicy cherries, apricot and baked pear with dark caramel, honey and creamy toffee. Cinnamon, toasted almonds and dark chocolate bring warmth and depth, while touches of tobacco and pepper prevent the sweetness from becoming too heavy. Thick and luxurious on the palate, it finishes exceptionally long with lingering fruit, caramelised butter and warming spice. A powerful Madeira matured whisky with an almost dessert like richness.

Kavalan Solist Madeira Cask is one of the less common expressions within the Solist collection, released as individual single casks rather than one uniform bottling. Some releases are exceptionally small: Cask D150507035A produced only 187 bottles, while D150507010A produced 218. Both have now disappeared from tracked retail, while a newer 2024 Madeira cask with 202 bottles currently starts around €180. Auction activity across individual Madeira casks is too fragmented to establish a reliable CAGR, but the investment fundamentals are attractive. Our view: limited single cask supply, unusual Madeira maturation and Kavalan's international reputation make this one of the more interesting Solist variants to preserve, particularly if the specific cask has a very small outturn.
