Kilkerran 8 Year Old Sherry Oak is a bold Campbeltown single malt that perfectly balances rich sherry sweetness with the distillery's signature touch of smoke. Deep notes of dark chocolate, dried fruits and orange peel are layered with toasted nuts, warming spices and a gentle maritime character, creating a whisky that's both powerful and beautifully refined. Kilkerran 8 Year Old Sherry Oak once looked like a classic Campbeltown collectible. The 2021 release reached around £120 to £130 at auction during the market’s stronger period, but enthusiasm has cooled sharply, with the same release later selling around £60 and current bids sitting near £50. That equates to an indicative decline of roughly 17% a year from its earlier secondary market peak. Newer Sherry Oak releases also remain available, reducing the urgency collectors once felt around the series. Our view: Kilkerran remains highly respected, but the market has corrected heavily and there is little evidence of a near term rebound. At current values, the whisky inside looks more compelling than the investment return.
