Details

True to its name, this Mannochmore is bright, elegant and wonderfully fruit driven. Delicate notes of ripe pear, juicy apple and vanilla are complemented by floral honey, zesty citrus and a touch of tropical fruit, while gentle oak and soft spice add depth without overshadowing its freshness. The silky texture carries through to a long, clean finish with lingering sweetness and subtle pepper, creating a beautifully balanced dram that's both lively and effortlessly refined.

All Sweetness and Light Wood is SMWS 64.103, an 11 Year Old Mannochmore released in 2018 with only 222 bottles from a single first fill bourbon barrel. What makes this one more interesting than the average SMWS release is its provenance: it formed part of the Society’s 35th Anniversary collection, personally selected by whisky writer Charlie MacLean, and originally cost £55.60. Auction appearances are now exceptionally scarce, so there is no defensible CAGR to calculate. Our view: the anniversary connection gives this bottle a stronger reason to become collectible than scarcity alone. It remains speculative, but we would keep this one sealed and see whether the significance of the 2018 collection strengthens with age.
