Fresh, malty and wonderfully characterful, this Glenfarclas brings together crisp cereals, crushed biscuits and oatmeal with bright lemon peel and tart gooseberry. A creamy, slightly oily texture gives way to touches of orchard fruit, white pepper and aromatic herbs, while subtle mineral notes keep everything lively and distinctive. The finish is warming and gently spiced, with lingering malt and citrus making this a refreshingly different expression of Glenfarclas.

Cereal Bar is SMWS 1.250, a 9 Year Old Glenfarclas distilled in January 2012 and bottled in 2021 from a single first fill ex bourbon barrel, with only 238 bottles produced. It was also released as an exclusive to SMWS November Parcels, adding a little distinction to an already small outturn. Today Whiskybase records no active retailers, but we could not find sufficient verified auction transactions to establish a meaningful price trend or CAGR. Glenfarclas certainly has collector pedigree, yet this particular younger SMWS cask has not developed a visible secondary market. Our view: scarce and unusual, but without evidence of buyers competing for it, drinking remains the stronger choice.
