Passionate and Romantic is SMWS 1.251, an eight year old Glenfarclas released in 2021 with only 225 bottles, finished in a first fill Spanish oak Oloroso hogshead. It originally cost £60.50 and is now completely sold out, with no current Whiskybase retailer listings. Despite that scarcity and a strong enthusiast score of 87.5, there is not enough verified auction activity to demonstrate sustained price growth. That makes this a good example of a bottle that looks collectible on paper but has yet to prove itself financially. Our view: the Glenfarclas name and tiny outturn give it some future potential, but without stronger secondary market demand, we would enjoy this one rather than wait for a return.
