SMWS- Worlds Collide

Details

A fascinating single grain whisky that lives up to its name, bringing together the smooth sweetness of grain spirit with the vibrant influence of a Trinidad rum cask. Creamy vanilla, caramel and honey are lifted by tropical fruit, ripe banana and a touch of warming spice, while subtle hints of peppermint, toasted oak and delicate herbs add an intriguing layer of complexity. Rich, silky and surprisingly expressive, it finishes with lingering sweetness and gentle spice, creating a whisky that's both distinctive and wonderfully easy to enjoy.

Drink | Historical CAGR: approximately −16% | Market outlook: Weak

Worlds Collide is SMWS G15.11, a 13 Year Old Loch Lomond single grain released in 2021 with just 235 bottles, finished in a Trinidad rum barrel. It originally sold for £72, but the latest UK auction closed at only £30 in September 2026, a fall of roughly 58% and an indicative CAGR of around negative 16%. It is a perfect example of why rarity alone does not guarantee value: the unusual rum finish and tiny outturn make it interesting, but collector demand simply has not followed. Our view: at less than half its original price five years later, the market is giving a pretty clear signal. This one is far more tempting to open than to keep for investment.
