Details

Soft, malty and quietly charming, this Strathmill combines green apple and orchard fruit with honey, vanilla custard and roasted nuts. Gentle sherry sweetness brings touches of dried fruit and chocolate, while fresh herbs, pepper and slightly dry oak keep the palate lively. Smooth and easy drinking, it finishes with lingering cocoa, spice and a subtle herbal edge, making it a delicate Speyside with more character than first meets the eye.

Drink | Historical CAGR: approximately −6% | Market outlook: Weak

Strathmill 12 Year Old Flora & Fauna has considerably more auction history than many of the bottles we have assessed. Whisky Online Auctions records 14 sales, including £37.50 in September 2020, £35 in both 2021 and 2022, before falling to £27.50 in November 2025. The same archive shows its historical peak at £52.50 in 2017. Using the comparable £37.50 result in 2020 and £27.50 in 2025 gives an indicative CAGR of approximately −6%. A further July 2026 auction achieved just £30, reinforcing the lack of upward momentum. Our view: although Strathmill is rarely seen as an official single malt outside Flora & Fauna, continued availability and weak secondary market performance make this much more attractive to drink than to hold for investment.
