Teaninich 2010 11 Year Old Adelphi is Cask 709029, a first fill Oloroso sherry cask bottled in 2021 with 539 bottles produced. It originally retailed for £69.95, but initially attracted a premium at auction, selling for £100 in October 2021 and £86 at Whisky Auctioneer that December. Today the bottle is still available around £100 at retail, suggesting scarcity has not developed as quickly as might be expected from a single cask release. Using the £100 auction result followed by £86 only months later points to early price weakness, while the lack of subsequent appreciation supports an indicative longer term CAGR around −5%. Our view: the sherry maturation and Adelphi pedigree make it appealing whisky, but there is not enough collector momentum to justify keeping it purely for investment.
